Seoul events this autumn start with the Silver Grass Festival on 17 October and run through two marathons that close roads in November. This page lists the Seoul events I could confirm for October to December 2026 and what each means for a visitor. I checked the dates against published sources on 11 October. Event details change, especially in winter, so confirm before you plan around any of them.

Seoul Silver Grass Festival (17 to 23 October)
The 25th Seoul Silver Grass Festival is held at Haneul Park, part of World Cup Park, from 10:00 to 21:00 on each of the seven days. The park itself is free and open all year. Reports suggest around 700,000 people come in a typical year, so go on a weekday if you can, and arrive near sunset if you want golden light on the grass.

An autumn night walk near Deoksugung
The Jeongdong Night Walk on 29 to 31 October is a night-time cultural programme in the Jeongdong area, which is right beside Deoksugung. If you go, combine it with a sunset walk along the Deoksugung Stone Wall Road. Check the official programme for which sites open and whether any tickets are needed.

Marathons and road closures
The JTBC Seoul Marathon (1 November) runs from the World Cup Stadium in Sangam, and the MBN Seoul Marathon (15 November) runs through Gwanghwamun and Jamsil. Races like these close roads and rearrange bus routes for hours. If your plans in those districts include a palace visit or a transfer, use the subway, and ask your hotel for the closure times. I could not confirm the closed streets, so check the organisers’ traffic notices.
Winter lights
The Seoul Lantern Festival is a winter event along Cheonggyecheon. Last year it ran from 12 December to 18 January. This year’s dates are not officially confirmed, so check Visit Seoul before you plan around it. For a calmer evening, the Han River Parks are good in any season, and Myeongdong and Namsan are easy to add.
Dates and times come from published news and the city’s festival listings (checked 11 October 2026) and can change. Confirm with the organiser before you travel.
